Tawas Family Theatre is a locally owned movie theater in a cozy, quaint space in downtown East Tawas.
We have two screens to offer moviegoers a choice of current releases. Cinema 1 holds 128 patrons and Cinema 2 can accomodate 98.
All of our sound
was updated in the Spring of 2025 and at that time we resurfaced the floors and installed brand new seating in the center of the cinemas for best viewing!
In addition, we have a wide variety of concessions including freshly popped popcorn, cold soft drinks (Coke Products), Slush Puppies, Big Pretzels, Nutty Bavarian's Fresh Cinnamon Roasted Nuts and a
popular assortment of candy.
Our prices are extremely affordable. A family can enjoy a night at the movies, including concessions, without having to break the bank.
Family Theatre Rules:
*Whispering is allowed, but No Loud Talking please!
*No outside Food or Drinks
*No Backpacks or Large bags allowed. You must leave them with a theater employee for safekeeping
*We DO allow infants and small children, but please go immediately into the lobby with a fussy child
*We reserve the right to ask any patron to leave without a reason given, at our discrepancy and with or without refund.
R RATED MOVIE RULES
We typically follow MPAA guidelines for Ratings.
However, if a movie is rated R because of horror or war,
we allow 16 and older to be UNaccompanied
as long as they show a valid drivers
license.
If the R rating has sexual content, we follow MPAA
regarding its "Unaccompanied minors must be
17 years or older" guideline. If you allow your minor child
to view R rated content, you must watch it WITH them.
